  • Lavish Monster Butter Dish

    She will guard your butter with her life and look luscious and ornate while she does it.

    This butter dish is made from white earthenware clay, it is food safe and can be put into the dishwasher if you must but if you ask her she will tell you that she would prefer to be lovingly hand washed.

    I used layers of engobes, staines and under glazes all sealed under a layer of thinned clear glaze to achieve the textures and patterns on this piece. There is a lovely crackle effect from the thickness of the engobe (an engobe is a slip made from clay colored with stain).

    The dish holds 1 whole stick of butter is 4.5″tall and 6″ wide.
