Clay? Cloth?…

This vase is wheel thrown and then hand altered to have textures that may remind you of your favorite sweater.

Even in my ceramic work, I am very inspired by textiles and sewing notions.

The vase holds 2&1/2 cups of liquid and is 7″ tall and 3.5″ wide

This vase is made from red earthenware clay, it is food safe and could be put into the dishwasher if you must but if you ask her she will tell you that she would prefer to be hand washed.

I used layers of engobes, staines and under glazes all sealed under a layer of thinned clear glaze to achieve the textures and patterns on this vase.
